Ella Ruth Davis Dunn

Savannah_ Ella Ruth (Davis) Dunn, 107, died April 9, 2018 at home under her loving family’s care.

Ella Ruth was born on January 19, 1911 in Effingham County. She lived the majority of her life in Savannah before moving to Roswell to be with her family.  Ella Ruth had a High School education and obtained a teacher’s certificate following the death of her husband, John Joseph “Jack” Dunn. She taught pre-school for a number of years before retiring.  Ella Ruth was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Savannah.

Surviving are her son, Jimmy Dunn of Savannah; a grandson, Jason Dunn of Athens; a granddaughter, Lisa Dunn of Augusta; a great-grandson, Ian Dunn of Augusta; and her beautiful Guardian Angel, Trai Tran.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Rev. Howard Pendley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Guyton, GA.

Remembrances may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, 121 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, GA 31312 and/or First Baptist Church of Savannah, 223 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

Nd. Dunn definitely lives a long life, my sincere condolences to the family. The Bible tells us though at Isaiah 25:8 that death soon will gone forever, how great that will be to be able to live forever without ever having to worry about dying. This will happen in the near future.
